As this year comes to a close, I wanted to take a moment to reflect on some of the incredible achievements I've had the privilege of being a part of as a maths tutor. Every year brings its own unique success stories, and I'd like to share a few of my proudest moments with you.
First and foremost, I've had the incredible opportunity to work with students who were initially advised to stick with foundation level maths, and together, we defied those expectations. It's been truly life-changing to witness these students not only excel but also thrive in higher level maths. Seeing their confidence grow alongside their grades has been an absolute joy.
Next, I'd like to highlight the transformation of a student who had previously lost hope and disengaged from Maths altogether. Through perseverance and dedicated support, we managed to turn things around. Now, this student has moved up two sets and consistently strives to achieve some of the highest marks in her class. Witnessing her newfound determination has been incredibly rewarding.
Lastly, I want to share the inspiring journey of a student who started Year 12 with a predicted grade of "E." Together, we embarked on a kickstart program, and term by term, this student pushed boundaries and exceeded expectations. By the time he submitted his UCAS form, he was predicted a grade B, with the possibility of even achieving an A/A*. Witnessing such progress and growth has filled me with pride.
Of course, these are just a few standout moments from my year as a maths tutor. Each and every opportunity to make a positive impact is meaningful to me. As we approach the end of the year, I am currently offering trial lessons. Every time I speak to a student, I can't help but wonder, "What if...?"
